Breakthrough

Breakthrough was a small human rights organisation when they released an album, Mann Ke Manjeere. The album led to the creation of a music video, which turned into a campaign. From there, the campaign grew into a movement demanding that violence against women and girls stop.

Breakthrough inspires people to fight for the rights of women and girls by catalysing leadership in communities to change deep-rooted cultural norms that perpetuate gender based discrimination and violence.

They work extensively with young people through trainings that help them develop a stronger identity and the confidence to make their own life decisions.

Their mass media campaigns reach millions across the country to change behaviours and attitudes, and to provide people with a sense of personal accountability in prevention of violence and discrimination against women and girls.

They work with communities in 5 states and 14 districts in India.
