organisation
Child Hope UK was set up and supported by UNICEF and Save The Children (Sweden) in 1989. Today, all of their programme work is delivered through local partners. They work alongside local partners who have in-depth knowledge of the environment and culture where they work. Together, they develop a plan to address a local issue that will maximise the impact of their joint work for children. Child Hope believes that locally led organisations are best placed to achieve positive change with and for marginalised children because they have an expert understanding of the local context, speak the language, and understand the cultural and social norms that impact on children’s lives. Furthremore, at the heart of all Child Hope’s programme work are children. All projects encourage child participation and engagement in decision-making processes.
